As far back as I remember I have always found peace from writing things down. I would have notes and stories scribbled everywhere as a teen.
Despite finding peace when journaling it wasn't an activity I would turn to when life was chaotic as an adult.
Then I became a mum.
The transition into motherhood wasn't a simple one for me and I felt very lost. I was constantly tired and overwhelmed from all the change. No longer was I the woman I was before, but I didn't know who I was now either.
Journaling took me on a path of self discovery. I learnt new things about myself, decided who I wanted to be now, and found ways to prioritise my wellbeing that didn't come at a cost to the family.
Without journaling I would not have the tools or resources to grow or nurture myself into the person I am now.
12 months of journaling helped me to:
